The goal of the build is to construct a one-storey straw-bale load-bearing side extension to an existing 1950s brick family house. The extension will house a sauna and bathroom, plus new hallway. The owners of the house are very committed to sustainability and the extension has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible, with limecrete foundations, straw-bale walls, green roof and thermodynamic water heating.
We will also be plastering with lime inside and out. The courses in lime plastering will be run (approximately 2 weeks) after the straw bale walls have been constructed. Please let us know if you are interested in the lime courses (the dates are yet to be arranged).
