The Summer issue of the “Ham & Petersham” magazine has come out: as usual the centre-spread is an update on the Low Carbon Zone and the Street Champions Project. If you have a spare half an hour to deliver a few copies to your street, I’m sure the publisher, Peter Rixon, will be happy to accept your help. Please email him at peterrixon@hotmail.com .
For the purposes of generally evaluating the project, we are going to run some focus groups – if you are a resident of Ham & Petersham and would like to take part in an hour-long session giving your opinion of the project, please let me know: chas.warlow@gmail.com. I have a few incentives to offer for participation in the focus group. I’m hoping to run the session on 18th or 19th July in the evening. I’m also working on an online survey which will be used to evaluate the success of the project. The second group will be for Street Champions and will take place on Tuesday 26th July in place of our regular meeting. 6.30pm start as usual. I know that this is a difficult date/time for some people, so I’m prepared to hold another focus group on 27th July at 7pm.
SCs are continuing to ‘nudge’ away (for an interesting article on behavioural change, see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-13309756): we now have over 760 residents on board the LCZ and plenty of assessments booked.
We're working on a calendar of events for the autumn (thermal imaging, draughtproofing, solar talks) and also on producing some housing-specific advice on ways to save energy and water for the various types of houses in the area.
